Measured Surveys

Accurate drawings that give your project the right start

Measured surveys are the foundation for all design work, planning submissions, and structural calculations. Get this part right and everything that follows becomes smoother. Get it wrong and you’re looking at delays, redesigns, and extra costs later on.

A proper survey also lets us produce feasible concept sketches and identify any potential issues with a property. Allowing us to give you a far more accurate estimate for any building work; no obligation, just clarity from the start.

What is a measured survey?

A measured survey is a detailed inspection of your home that captures exact dimensions and structural details. As well as a laser tape measure, we also use iMapper – a professional-grade 360 degree laser scanner – to deliver floor plans within +/-2mm measurement accuracy on every project. From this, we produce existing floor plans, elevations, and roof plans, which form the baseline for your design. Simply put, it tells us exactly what we’re working with before we start making changes.

Why does a measured survey matter?

  • Avoids guesswork and rework later
  • Required for planning permission or permitted development
  • Ensures layouts and ideas are drawn to scale
  • Accurate drawings prevent mistakes on site
  • Prevents costly surprises during construction

What we record during your survey

During a measured survey, we capture:

  • Room sizes and layouts
  • Ceiling heights
  • Window and door positions
  • Structural walls and openings
  • Stairs, chimney breasts, and fireplaces
  • Drainage access points
  • Roof structure (where accessible)
  • Levels and heights where necessary

We measure carefully so your design work can begin with absolute clarity.
